The Far Paddock is part of our Valley East Estate Vineyard in Marlborough. As the name suggests, this small block of Pinot gris is located in the distant corner of the vineyard. The vineyard borders the lower reaches of the Wairau River with moderately heavy free draining silts.
On the nose this wine is distinctly Pinot gris with light spice and pear character and hints of nectarine.
Perfect to compliment any seafood or white meat dish. This wine has sufficient body to accompany roast chicken or pork.
The wine expresses pleasing palate weight and complexity. It can be consumed young but will also benefit from one to two years aging in the bottle when the apricot and stone fruit characters will come to the fore.
