 Rob and Lynne Kennedy are the third generation of this family to farm at Spring Creek in Marlborough. Spring Creek is at the Eastern end of the Wairau Valley so the site is cool and maturation takes place over a very long period. This small block of Sauvignon block was planted in 2000 on an old stable wind blown sand dune. It is part of the larger Valley East Estate owned by Rob & Lynne. The dune was chosen for its very well drained soils and the promise of excellent maturity. Schwarzmann rootstock was specifically chosen for its affinity with sand and early maturity. The result is a low cropping vineyard which gives very intense, ripe characteristics and a full rich palate.
