This small vineyard lies at Makauri in the heart of the Poverty Bay flats. It sits on quite fertile country that suits the low vigour of Gewurztraminer. The odd name comes from the original 8 rows that were planted. The fact that a further 8 rows were added some years later has been overlooked and the block has always been known as 'The Eight Rows'.
